Job Title: WORSHIP LEADER 

Position Type: PART-TIME

Reports To: PASTOR/CHURCH ELDERS

Job Summary:

The Worship Leader is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading the music portion of the worship service that align with the church’s mission and values.

The role involves collaborating with the pastor, musicians, and other church members to foster an inspiring worship service that encourages spiritual growth and community. 

The Worship Leader should be a person committed to following Jesus Christ and desiring to help lead and serve a church by leading them into worship each Sunday Morning.

This is a part-time, salaried position which pays $1,200 per month. The anticipated commitment each week would be 8-10 hours, which includes planning, meeting weekly with the pastor, preparation, rehearsal, making worship lyric slides, and leading the Sunday Morning Worship Service as well as special worship services such as Good Friday, Christmas Eve, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Planning:

• Collaborate with the pastor to plan and organize weekly worship services, selecting music that complements the sermon and church calendar.

Music Selection:

• Choose a variety of solid theologically rich songs whether they be modernized hymns, contemporary worship songs, along with other musical elements that minister to the diverse preferences of the congregation.

Rehearsals:

• Lead regular rehearsals with musicians and vocalists to ensure preparedness and unity in worship services. Can be done on Sunday mornings, as well.

Worship Leadership:

• Lead the congregation in worship through singing and playing an instrument, fostering an atmosphere of reverence and participation.

Team Development:

• Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer musicians and singers, encouraging their spiritual and musical growth.
• We do currently have other musicians, who would love to accompany on Sunday mornings.

Technical Coordination:

• Work with the audio/visual team to ensure sound and projection equipment is effectively utilized during services.

Special Services:

• Plan and lead music for special services and events, such as holiday services, weddings, and funerals as needed.

Community Involvement:

• Engage with church members and encourage their involvement in the worship ministry, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

Qualifications:

• A committed Christian with a heart for worship and a lifestyle that reflects Christian values.
• Experience in leading worship and proficiency in playing a musical instrument (e.g., guitar, piano).
• Strong vocal ability and familiarity with a broad range of worship music styles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and volunteers.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading worship in a small church setting.
• Familiarity with music software and audio/visual technology.
• Formal training in music or worship ministry.

Compensation:

• Part-time, salaried position which pays $1,200 per month for leading Sunday morning worship services and one additional night of worship a month. Traditionally this took place on a Thursday night, but is open for negations.
