40 Days: Lakes & Lambs
40 Days: Lakes & Lambs
John 21.1-17
What do you do when you have failed someone you love and you are not sure where you stand with them?
Peter knew exactly that feeling. After denying Jesus three times, he did what a lot of us do when we do not know what else to do: He went back to what was familiar. And Jesus met him right there.
In this message from John 21, we look at a conversation between Jesus and Peter that is both uncomfortable and deeply hopeful. Jesus does not show up with a list of requirements or a formal review of Peter’s failures.
Jesus shows up with a fire, some fish, and breakfast. And then He calls this fisherman to become something he has never been before.
If you have ever carried a label you did not deserve, or felt stuck between who you were and who God might be calling you to become, this one is for you.
