Update: March 6, 2022

‘Then Noah and his family left the ark and he built an altar to the Lord.

He took clean animals and birds and offered burnt offerings to the Lord.

The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, and said in his heart,

“I will never again curse the ground because of man even though the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down  every living creature as I have done. While the earth remains, seed time and harvest,  cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease. I have established  my covenant with you and every living creature for all future generations:

I have set my rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. I will remember my everlasting covenant between me and you and every living creature.”’

Excerpts from Genesis 8 and 9

I will sing to the Lord for he has triumphed gloriously;

He has hurled the horse and rider into the sea.

The Lord is my strength and my song; He has given me victory.

This is my God, and I will praise him—my Father’s God and I will exalt him.

Your right hand, O Lord, is glorious in power.

Your right hand, O Lord, smashes the enemy.

In the greatness of your majesty, you overthrow those who rise against you.

Who is like you among the gods, O Lord—

Glorious in holiness, Awesome in splendor,

Performing great wonders?

With your unfailing love you lead the people you have redeemed.

In your might, you guide them to your sacred home.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which you were called. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Welcome to the Third Sunday of Advent Season!

The third week of Advent is the shepherd candle of joy. The pink candle stands for the rose of Sharon that was blooming on the hills. Advent! Watch! He is coming!

Shepherds were out in the field keeping watch over their flocks by night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were filled with great fear.

The angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom He is pleased!” ~Luke 2:8-14

Update: November 14, 2021

I would remind you of the gospel I preached to you which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved. I delivered to you that which was most important: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, that He was buried and then raised on the third day! If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead! For as by a man came death, by a man has also come the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom of God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. (1 Corinthians 15: 1-3, 17, 20-25)
